49 and Dreaming: Klitschko Title Offer

Former heavyweight consolidated Wladimir Klitschko Heavyweight Champion (64-5, 53 Kos) says he is thinking of returning after eight years of retirement. He wants to try to capture a world title at 49, but it seems to be farfetched.

Wladimir Klitschko has not fought since he was suffering from a notebook knockout on Anthony Joshua on April 29, 2017. Klitschko was 41 then and was inactive for two years, losing Tyson Fury in 2015 with a loose 12 round decision.

Wladimir looked bad in these races and in his second knockout loss in Corrie Sanders. The loss of mania and Joshua showed that Wladimir no longer had that spark. Basically he created the careers of these two British giants, AJ & Fury, because they would probably never have become stars if he had done what he needed and hit them.

Foreman file

THE Ring reports that Klitschko wants Break George Foreman’s record Be the oldest champion. On November 5, 1994, Foreman, who was 45 years old, hit Moorer in the tenth round to capture the IBF and WBA heavyweight title.

However, Foreman was in the perfect situation: facing a former 175-LB champion, Moorer, who was badly less for heavyweight competition.

It would be unfair to the many candidates waiting for a world title that shot if Klitschko surpassed them and immediately questioned a world title on his return.

The USYK/Pulev route

Klitschko’s only opportunity to win a title on his return is to face WBA, WBC and WBO champion Oleksandr usyk or WBA ‘Normal’ Kubrat Pulev Belt. 11 years ago, Wladimir hit Pulev in the fifth round on November 15, 2014 – until 38 at that time.

He will not succeed against IBF champion Daniel Dubois because he is beating too hard and Wladimir has never done well against these types of fighters.

Aggression is required

If Klitschko is about to come back, he must let his hands go and fight more aggressively than he showed in his conflict against Joshua and Fury. In both casualties, Wlad fought as if he were afraid to throw out of fear of hitting out.

He had Joshua ready to hit outside after throwing him in the sixth round on Wembley Stadium. Instead, Klitschko ignored his corner and tried to box Joshua, which allowed him to recover and return to stop him in the 11th.

In the loss of Fury, Wlad did not fight aggressively, letting the youngest fighter pass through the victory. This was sad to watch because Wladimir had the advantage of the power and speed of the hand, but it would not pull the trigger.

If his former trainer, Emanuel Steward, were still alive at the moment, he would have brightened a fire on him, teasing him in the corner to attack
