The race had no drama, mainly about Bivol moving around the ring, throwing quick shots and then committing Beterbiev. It would be more interesting for fans to watch if Bivol had stood and dedicated, but this is not his style. It’s an engine. All the move that Bivol used made it impossible for Beterbiev to take out his plans. When he got right in front of him, he doesn’t throw enough.

With Niki, Bivol and Beterbiev will probably meet in a trilogy then. This will be up to Turki Alalshikh to decide if he wants to go in that direction. After the dull rematch tonight, it would be better for the Boxing Public if Turki went in a different direction and had David Benavidez Challenge Bivol for his four titles. Obviously, Bivol supporter Eddie Hearn will probably try to persuade Turki to let the trilogy with Beterbiev focus on either Benavidez or Canelo Alvarez.
The Mexican Canelo superstar is busy fighting Terence Crawford afterwards, so it’s not a viable choice this year until Turki can negotiate a December match including Bivol.
