The decorated Italian, who has won hundreds of team 1 games around the world, says he has failed to solve financial difficulties with HMRC.

In a statement, Dettori said: “For the last six months, my advisers have been working with HMRC in an effort to find a solution to my financial situation. Unfortunately, I will go bankrupt.

“I am sad and embarrassed by this result and I would advise others to get a stronger influence on their financial issues.

“Bankruptcy is an important decision and its consequences will affect me for many years.”

The 54 -year -old canceled his plans to retire from the saddle in 2023 and has been led full -time in the US ever since.
