Taxpayers could get a $1,400 stimulus check at the end of this month. Am I eligible?

At the end of this month, the taxpayers they could receive a stimulus check of up to $1,400, depending on how they filed their 2021 tax return.

U Internal Revenue Service announced in December that it would distribute about $2.4 billion — up to $1,400 per individual — in stimulus checks to American taxpayers who did not claim the Recovery refund credit on their 2021 tax returns.

According to the IRSThis round of stimulus checks was set after the agency reviewed internal data showing that many eligible taxpayers who filed a tax return in 2021 did not claim the Recovery Refund Credit, a credit refundable for the individual who did not receive one or more Economic Impact Payments, more commonly known as stimulus payments.

Taxpayers who did not claim the Recovery Refund Credit on their 2021 tax returns are eligible for the last stimulus check.

Taxpayers can check if they have claimed this credit by looking at their 2021 tax return and checking if they have left the Recovery Credit field blank or filled it in as $0.

Taxpayers do not need to take action to receive the latest stimulus check. The IRS began automatically sending payments in December, and they will continue until the end of January.

Eligible taxpayers will receive a letter notifying them of the payment, and payments will be automatically direct deposited or sent by paper check.

An eligible taxpayer can receive up to $1,400, depending on a IRS.

Taxpayers who have not filed a 2021 tax return may still be eligible for the stimulus check if they file their return and claim the Recovery Refund Credit by April 15, according to the IRS.
