Meanwhile, some reports suggested that Gautam Gambhir has backed Cheteshwar Pujara’s inclusion in the 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy squad. Known for his durability and unmatched ability to anchor the innings, Pujara is surely missing from the team in the ongoing Test series.

He signed off saying, “Another thing was that Gautam Gambhir wanted to pick Cheteshwar Pujara. He was thinking of a player like him. There, if the coach wanted this and the selectors refused and the captain didn’t want it, ideally, everyone should work in one direction.”
