Abdullah Mason (17-0, 15 kos) will compete with Giovanni Cabrera in a 10-round match on April 5. This is a step up for the top Mason promoted by his recent victory last Friday night against Manuel Jaimes.

Thboxingvoice reports that the 20-year-old Mason will fight Cabrera (22-2, 7 kos) in two months from now. This will be Cabrera’s first race since he was hit in the seventh round by William Zepeda on July 6 last year in Ontario, California.
Abdullah seemed impressive last Friday, stealing the show from Keyshawn Davis vs. Denyks Berinchyk main event with the fourth round of Manuel Jaimes at Undercard. Mason dropped Jaimes four times in the race.
This fight will show whether Mason can face a wicked boxer who will not be there to hit like most of the other 17 opponents he faced during his four -year career.
Mason wants to fight for a world title against one of the four champions in 135 and says he will not avoid fighting with one of them if he was in friendly terms. Keyshawn and his friend, WBC Lightweight Champion Shakur Stevenson, have been criticized in boxing for their decision not to fight each other. They don’t want to lose their friendship.
