All players out of Carabao Cup quarter-final against Tottenham

Ruben Amorim has provided the latest Manchester United squad news ahead of their Carabao Cup quarter-final against Tottenham.
The Red Devils have had plenty of success in domestic cups in recent years, and these competitions could give meaning to the club’s 2024/25 campaign.
Silverware in the first year of Ruben Amorim’s project wouldn’t do the Portuguese manager any harm, but Erik ten Hag’s reign in Manchester showed that claiming silverware isn’t the be-all and end-all.
United head into Thursday’s cup tie on the back of one spectacular victory in the Manchester Derbyand the Red Devils are certainly doing better than their opponents when it comes to injuries.
Here is the last one Man Utd team news ahead of their quarter-final at Spurs.
Harry Maguire, Leny Yoro and Victor Lindelof have returned to the fold in recent weeks and Jonny Evans has also been available for selection. The veteran defender returned to training last week but was not included in the matchday squads against Viktoria Plzen and Man City.
Evans could make the trip to north London on Thursday, but Amorim could turn to youngsters to fill the last two spots on his bench.
Luke Shaw suffered another setback in late November, with the left-back bothered by a hamstring injury after battling a calf complaint for much of 2024. We probably won’t see the England international until the new year.
Outside of a sequence that saw Jeremy Doku put him in the back, Noussair Mazraoui impressed at the weekend but was substituted in the 78th minute of the game. The Moroccan is dealing with an injury and Amorim has confirmed he will be assessed ahead of Thursday’s Cup tie.
Mount Mason he has an admirer in Amorim, and the Englishman was included in the Manchester Derby XI. However, Mount lasted barely ten minutes before sitting on the Etihad turf and being replaced by Kobbie Mainoo.
The severity of his latest setback has yet to be confirmed, but Amorim bluntly stated in his pre-match press conference that Mount is “not available”.
United have no injuries in attack but Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho were left out of Sunday’s squad. The boss suggested there were a myriad of factors at play when deciding. to skip the pair, and Rashford has done so ever since hinted that a move away from Manchester might be necessary.
However, Amorim has opened the door to quick returns: “They’re training, so we’ll see,” he said. “We have one more training (session), as I said in the press conference, they are our players. We are better with them.
“If they can handle the training and the commitment to the teammates, they will be ready to play.”
