Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury: Eddie Hearn reveals he’s booked Wembley Stadium for potential summer big fight | Boxing news

Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury has moved one step closer and could happen this summer at Wembley Stadium.
Eddie Hearn has revealed he wants Joshua back in action in May or June and has booked Wembley for a potential big fight with Fury.
However, Hearn admits it is still unclear what Fury wants to do after back-to-back defeats to Oleksandr Usyk.
Asked if he had a date available at Wembley if Fury wanted to fight Joshua, Hearn said: “Yes. We’re looking to get back in the ring in May or June. If it ends up being July, it doesn’t matter.
“I still think it’s based on Tyson Fury. Until the loss settles in and where he is mentally and what he wants to do, that’s when we’ll really find out.
“Because when he looks at the options, what else is he going to do and who else is he going to fight?”
Joshua, who has not fought since being beaten by Daniel Dubois in September, posted a photo of Fury on his Instagram with the message “looking for this guy”.
Speaking at the Ring Awards, Hearn added: “Everything I’ve seen from AJ’s social media, particularly in the last hour, is very encouraging.
“He’s not really one to call anyone out, but it’s clear that he’s calling him out. He’s calling out Tyson Fury.
“It’s the fight he wants. I keep saying there are two fights: Daniel Dubois or Tyson Fury.
“The world heavyweight title is what (Joshua) wants. But, of course, Fury is a fight that needs to land on Anthony Joshua’s resume.
“And obviously it has to be delivered for the British public as well.
“I think the real key to this is Tyson Fury. He’s only three weeks off a loss, probably still upset and thinking about the loss. We’ll have to see if he wants to fight again.”
Joshua: I’m gunning for Fury and I want to go out of the game with a bang
Anthony Joshua in Ring Magazine…
“After my last race I took some time off. I let my body heal, which I’m still working on now, and turned down some business opportunities so I could focus on the sport, which takes the mental pressure off as well as the physical.
“I left with the family who are always good and we will be back again for 2025 and it feels good.
“It’s a fight (Joshua vs. Fury) that I want to see, because I’m a boxing fan, so I want to start this fight.
“When I’m at the local gym everyone asks me and the reason I decided to do some interesting things (on social media) is because I don’t have many years left. I had more years behind me.
“So what I want to do is get out of the game and make an impact.
“Being weird, a great character, having fun with it while we’re doing it and going for big fights. Tyson Fury is one of them.
“Every time I see people they’re like, ‘When you fight Fury?’ The Irish community, the English community, the Nigerian community, they all ask me the same question.
“As a fighter, it’s up to me to perform. It has to happen this year.”
