‘Apologizing isn’t enough’ – Amad Diallo sends heartfelt message to Man Utd fans
Manchester United winger Amad Diallo admitted “apologies are not enough” in an emotional address to fans at the end of 2024.
Amad enjoyed his first consistent run in the United lineup towards the end of the calendar year after previously struggling to stake his claim, scoring ten goals and assisting in the last two months.
But these promising individual performances have come against a backdrop of team struggles. United have conceded five times in December alone and conceded 18 goals match an unwanted club record.
United’s run of form has even led new manager Ruben Amorim, whose honeymoon period was limited to just two games before the intense reality show began, to recognize the R word: relegation.

On New Year’s Eve, the day after a mild performance at home defeat by Newcastle UnitedAmad addressed his 600,000 followers on X, formerly Twitter.
“A very difficult year, saying sorry is not enough,” he told fans directly.
“…but you’ve supported us and continued to do so all this time…thank you.”
Amorim is trying to implement new methods and a whole new tactical system in the middle of a season in which almost every week is a three-game week, meaning the opportunity to face real things in training is almost non-existent.
Things aren’t going to get any easier either, with a short trip across the M62 to Liverpool to face the league leaders on Sunday. The reverse fixture at Old Trafford in September ended in a 3-0 defeat, while just two years ago United they were annihilated 7-0 at Anfield.
