Ask HN: a question about dealing with a junior developer
So this is the scenario: I developed a SQL item used in an application application in an app that I have never seen before. The developer is a junior and obviously they have a bad understanding of the cases they use, and they are likely to not have enough changes. This developer is not in my team and not a person directly responsible for the rule. The application brings almost no risk if the developer will break it, we can only return our changes and no badly achieved.
My question is: In this scenario what do you do, and why? Did I take the extra step and walk them throughout the pre-embeeming test process, or do I allow them to self-change and can experience the pain of ruining production?
It’s not a critical question for me that I’m just shocked to take some of it. This is a question to allow a developer who has gained experience in difficult manner vs. wolves (which can cause worse results)
