Boxing Results: Duarte stops Madueno in Slugfest
Oscar Duarte hit former WBO Latino Miguel ‘Explosivo’ Madueno champion in the seventh round of a real slugfest Saturday night at Honda Center in Anaheim, California. In co-characteristics, Super Middleweights Darius ‘DFG’ Fulghum stopped Wilfred Harris, younger in four rounds.
Duarte, 29-2-1 (23) stopped Miguel ‘Explosivo’ Madueno, 31-4 (28) at 2:09 of the seventh round of a scheduled 12 rounds.
In the first round, both had their moments. In the second round, the late Sub Madueno was holding his own in a slugfest. In the third round, Duarte landed in a narrow but low punch, which referee Thomas Taylor called okay. Madueno didn’t fight enough, moving throughout the ring. In the fourth round, Duarte shook Madueno with a left -handed hook on the chin, but left home from the hook.
In the last minute of the fifth round, Duarte opened a cut in Madueno’s left eyebrow, causing a real slugfest. In the sixth round, for a delayed sub -hypothesis, Madueno was holding his own, though Dorry took another round. In the seventh round, Dorry had Madueno on his feet, as referee Thomas Taylor came in, stopping.
In the co-characteristic, Super Middleweight, ranked #5 WBA, Darius ‘DFG’ Fulghum, 14-0 (12) stopped Wilfred Harris, younger, 22-3-2 (10) at 2:18 of the fourth round of the 10 rounds scheduled .
In the first round, both were not impressive, with excessive exploitation. In the second round, a jab that followed a right-handed chin from Fulghum threw Harris for an 8-count by referee Ray Corona. In the third round, Fulghum had Harris to hurt early, but Harris managed to get through the round. Prior to the start of the next round, Ref Corona had the ring doctor to check Harris.
In the fourth round, Fulghum had Harris to hurt and not defend himself enough when Ref Corona eventually entered, stopping.
WBC Silver Flyweight champion Ricardo ‘El Nino’ Sandoval, 26-2 (18) defeated NABF Fly Champ Saleto ‘Mr. Personnel ‘Henderson, 10-2 (7) with a 10-strap unanimous decision.
In the first round, the shortest Henderson showed quick hands, holding his own against the favored Sandoval. From the second to the sixth round, Sandoval had the edge as the much smaller Henderson did much better than expected.
In the seventh round, both had their moments. The crowd is for Sandoval, who had to work harder than expected against the much more infinite Henderson. Sandoval had a small cut on his left eyebrow. In the ninth round, Henderson was still in the fight against all odds. In the tenth and final round, Sandoval won the race, but waited for a break, and Henderson hung there.
The scores were 98-92, 100-90 and 100-90.
Welterweight Ken ‘Bossman’ Sims, younger, 22-2-1 (8) defeated Kendo ‘Tremendo’ Castareda, 21-8 (9) with a unanimous decision of 10 rounded in a match that appeared quite competitive.
In the second round, both turned the Southpaw as Sims went to the body, taking another narrow round. In the fourth round, Sims hurt Castareda with a right hand in the body. Castaneda finished the round of Southpaw that landed four unanswered right hooks on the Sims head.
They both went to the body in the sixth round, as Sims continued to land more, but Castareda never stopped coming. In the seventh round, Castareda hurt the Sims in combination with the chin in the middle, which was a good round for both fans, with Castareda taking the round.
Castaneda ended loudly slowly in the seventh and eighth rounds, taking his third round. The tenth and last round was the best round of the race, leaving all this. Castaneda landed six left hooks in the last seconds on SIM’s head.
The referee was Ray Corona. Scores 98-92, 99-91 and 99-91 were very much for the Sims, Jr.
Welterweight Joel Iriarte, 6-0 (6) stopped Daniel Harris, 19-24-2 (14) at 1:21 of the second round of six rounds.
In the first round, Iriarte arrived in a combination of 3 he was scrambling right on Harris’ head, throwing him 8-count by referee Ray Armendariz just before Bell against the last sub-Sub in Harris. In the second round, at Midway Point, Iriarte landed in a short left uppercut on the chin, hitting Harris on the ropes and threw Harris in the corner, as referee Armendariz ran from the mismatch.
Cruiserweight Yair Gallardo, 8-0 (7), hit Carlos ‘Pupita’ Miranda, 7-2 (3), at 1:41 of the first round of a scheduled eight rounds.
In the first round, Gallardo landed on a uppercut right on the chin, followed by several punches in the body, throwing Miranda as referee Thomas Taylor.
The light Daniel ‘Junebug’ Garcia, 11-0 (9) hit Francisco Pacheco, 7-4-2) at 2:40 of the third round scheduled.
In the first round, a collision of the heads caused a cut at the top of the head of Pacheco. In the second round, Garcia drew blood from the nose of Pacheco with a right hand. In the third round, nose bleeding continued as Garcia Out-Gounded Pacheco, throwing him left on the body as referee Ray Corona counted him on a knee.
The Super Bantamweight Southpaw Gael ‘El Terrorista’ Cabrera, 7-0 (4) defeated Roberto ‘Escorpion’ Pucheta, 14-26-3 (8) with six decisions.
In the first four rounds, Cabrera overcame Pucheta, who was the attacker. In the sixth and final round, the 20 -year -old remained undefeated, taking all six rounds.
The scores were 60-54, 60-54 and 60-54.
Middleweight Fabian Guzman, 6-0 (6) defeated Daniel Lim, 11-3 (3) by six decisions.
Super Lightweight Javier Meza (2-0, 2 ko) hit Lyle McFarlane (3-7, 1 ko) at 2:15 of the second round of scheduled four rounds.
Meza had McFarlane on his feet in the second round, causing referee Raymond Armendariz to stop.
Bantamweight Kevin Gudino (2-0 (2) stopped Kenario Davidson (1-2) at 0:35 of the third round of a scheduled four rounds.
In the third round, a combination by Gudino threw Davidson, forcing referee Chris Leben to overcome it.
The ring announcer was Mark Fratto.
