Burnley 1 – 0 Oxford UTD

Burnley fell to the top difference of the league, as Michal Helik’s first half target gave Scott Parker a 1-0 win over Oxford and his old Charlton Gary Rowett.

He returned the undefeated runs of clarets in 18 games and was a straight line of a straight leaf, but Burnley’s goals continued to against one side in the lower half of the table, though one that reached an undefeated nine games, As Rowett led them, away from the problem since he took over in December.

Turf Moor had watched three consecutive draws before that and fans of the house were ironically chanting “we have scored a goal!” – The first in their home since December 21 – after taking the lead in the 33rd minute, even if it was actually the Oxford who scored it for them.

Lyle Foster saw Josh Cullen’s course in the box and the low cross of the midfielder was aimed at Zian Flemming, but before he could reach the unfortunate Helik he turned it into his own net.

It was only Burnley’s 37th goal in 31 league games this season. But it was worthy of the sheep and victory, as eight days after failing to record a shot at home against Leeds, they created more than many chances of having done so much more comfortable.

At the beginning of Jaidon Anthony he hit a shot from the Hannibal Mejbri cross, but the ball went straight to Flemming, who threw his effort closely.

It should have been in front of the 12th minute, when Flemming’s Anthony cross with Anthony to leave Foster with a clear view of the target, but South Africa was a bit widely sent.

Seconds later, Jamie Cumming took a long time to clean up and Foster closed him to divert the ball to make, but the Oxford goalkeeper was quickly explored for his mistake as he pushed a strong shot around the position.

Helik then hooked Foster away from the goal before Josh Laurent sent a half volley.

Burnley’s goal broke Oxford in an answer. Alex Matos’s shot rejected Maxime Esteve for a corner that Burnley failed to face, but when Helik sent it back to the goal, Greg Leigh put a clear header on the wrong side of the position.

But Burnley restored control of the game and gradually strangle it, as chances are dried at both ends.

As a hailstorm thunderstorms in the second half Burnley he finally found fresh boost as the game moved in the last 20 minutes and should have added to their lead.

CJ Egan-Riley broke from the defense, changed the passes with Foster and then caused the ball dangerously to the whole target. Leigh pushed it for a corner from which Foster had a straight shot in cumming.

Foster’s attempt from a corner bent before cumming removed her, with his clearance simply escaping the Onrushing Flemming in the distant post, and the goalkeeper then broke a strong attempt by the substitute Jeremy Sarmiento.

As time noted in January, signing Jonjo Shelvey came to make his debut in Burnley, the first upper football of England’s average from his final appearance for Turkish side of Turkish side Eyupspor on October 28th but colleague New Boy Marcus Edwards remained on the bench.

Niki put burnley two points behind Leeds and the level with Sheffield United, though both sides have a game in hand.

The managers

Burnley’s Scott Parker:

“We have lost some good chances. This is clear. I am more pleased to have these great chances. As a coach.

“There is definitely pressure on us and there has been pressure on us all season, this is an incredibly young team, and I have mentioned many times some players play a full season in the league for the first time. The expectation is obviously huge and we are 18 undefeated, another Clean leaf, they won another football match in the league, so it’s nothing but positive. “

Oxford Gary Rowett:

“They had some good opportunities (early) maybe they should have scored before the target and the goal ends up being one of the least threatening for them. I was probably disappointed. But I couldn’t say they weren’t coming.

“I thought we were chasing the game pretty well. We got in some good areas. I put them under pressure and made it a little nervous without creating this great moment where you would say we had to get something out of the game.

“I don’t necessarily think it would be fair for Burnley’s performance, so it’s the next development of our performance. I think we have shown that we can compete in this section.”
