Celtic: Brendan Rodgers fans with hope and prayer are not prohibited by the Champions League trip to Bayern Munich | Football news

Brendan Rodgers “hopes and prays” Celtic fans are not banned by the Champions League play-off in Bayern Munich after another UEFA disciplinary alert.

Scotland champions were in a suspensive ban for fans after a series of fines for pyrotechnics and an incident at Villa Park on Wednesday caused a possible activation of punishment.

The photos show one of the travel support holding a green tobacco channel, who was then thrown on the court during the defeat of Celtic 4-2 by Aston Villa.

The wreaths will face the Bundesliga side next month and the club has told the fans to know a possible ban on the long leg if the trip to Germany.

Rodgers said Sky Sports news: “Genuine Celtic supporters who are connected to our Club are the last thing they want to hear. Children and people who travel for years and years worldwide, home and away.”

“We wouldn’t want, however, a culmination of things that have come our way as a club.

“I only hope and I pray that, especially in a game of such size, or any game on this subject, but definitely this next game, that this is not far from those supporters whose Celtic means everything.”

Celtic will have to beat Vincent Kompany’s side over two feet to reach the Champions League in the last 16, where they will face Bayern Liverkusen or Atletico Madrid.

“I think initially, at the beginning of the competition, we wanted to get there and we have done it, Rodgers added.

“A really virtual club in world football, so we will look forward to it when it comes.”

Celtic Manager is optimistic to add to the Celtic team before the deadline, but does not expect Kieran Tierney to arrive in January.

So far Jota is the only new arrival in Celtic in January with the fin to the team for Sunday’s Fir Park game, as it was not eligible to play against the villa in the middle week.

Rodgers is sure of adding to his team before Monday’s deadline, but he is not hopeful for Arsenal’s defender Kieran Tierney who returns to Glasgow before the end of the season.

“For me, this always seemed to be summer,” he said.

“I know there’s a lot of work that is happening behind the scenes.

“There is nothing to say now to it, but there has been a lot of work that continued, so my point of view and hope was always that we will be stronger to get out of the window.

“Our job is to continue to improve the team.”
