Celtic close to seal deal to sign ‘shocking’ £110,000 star

Celtic are now close to completing the signing of a “shocking” player who is determined to seal a move to Parkhead, according to a report.

Celtic are looking at a number of new signings

Although the Hoops are somewhat clear on top of it Scottish Premiership table, with Rangers struggling last, Brendan Rodgers remains keen to strengthen his team in several key areas.

Kyogo Furuhashi’s future in Glasgow remains in doubt amid interest from MLS side Atlanta United, and their camp have now been contacted Mathias Kvistgaarden of Brondbywho has enjoyed a fantastic season in Denmark.

Kvistgaarden has been tipped as a potential replacement for Kyogo, but the Dane is not the only striker Rodgers has in mind as talks have now begun over a deal for Sharpsburg winger Sondre Ojrasaiter.

Celtic are not only looking to strengthen their options in attacking areas, but are also looking to bring in a new left-back, with Kieran Tierney is identified as a key targetas Arsenal are willing to let him go when his contract expires at the end of the season.

It was now a new update on Tierney’s Hoops pursuitand it’s promising news, with TEAMtalk revealing that the former Celtic man is now close to signing a pre-contract.

There are other offers on the table for the 27-year-old but he has rejected them all in favor of a return to Parkhead, showing he is determined to reunite with Rodgers.

The Hoops are focused on getting a pre-contract agreement over the line, but there is also hope that a loan deal could be possible this month. However, the Gunners would be looking for a £2.5m loan fee, with Mikel Arteta reluctant to let the £110,000 a week the defender leaves in the middle of the season.

Great news for Celtic

The Isle of Man-born defender was instrumental in helping Celtic to nine Scottish Premiership titles on the bounce, making 170 appearances for the club, during which he showed his attacking talent by scoring eight goals and 37 assists.

While the Scotland international has fallen out of favor in north London, he has been an important player for Arsenal in the past and a return to Glasgow could be just what is needed to get his career back on track.

Kieran Tierney

The left back was praised as a ‘disruptor’ during his time with the Gunners, but perhaps not quite up to the standard to be a regular starter for a club with Premier League and Champions League ambitions.

That said, Tierney has already proven himself in Glasgow and the fact that he is happy to reject other offers to seal a return to Celtic shows how much he still thinks of his former club.

The only issue with a loan move in January could be the proposed £2.5m loan fee. With the Hoops already in an extremely strong position to win the league, it may not be financially prudent to spend so much money on a player they can get on a free in the summer and they may focus on a pre-contract agreement.
