Cerence, Jaguar Land Rover Team on AI-Powered in-Car Experience

Cerence and luxury automakers Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) has collaborated to develop the next generation of JLR’s in-car experience.

The companies will use Cerence’s artificial intelligence-enabled technologies for transportation to complement JLR’s advanced intelligence and capabilities. Range Rover, Finding, defenders and Jaguar vehicles, according to a Thursday (Jan. 2) press release.

“Cerence AI will collaborate with JLR to create a new generation of in-car experiences that enhance enjoyment, safety and productivity by leveraging the latest technological advances,” Cerence AI Chief Revenue Officer Christian Mentz the release said.

The announcement comes as JLR works to develop a pure electric model for each of its three brands – Range Rover, Discovery and Defender – and to make Jaguar fully electric by the end of the decade. , according to the release.

“A user experience enhanced through voice and AI technology is at the heart of JLR as we improve our infotainment system to delight our customers with expanded features and a richer, more enjoyable journey in the vehicle,” JLR Chief Data and AI Officer Christine Kemp the release said.
