How does the last-16-16 draw of the Champions League work?

The top eight clubs are combined based on their positions at the end of the championship phase to form four pairs of seeds: 1st and 2nd, 3rd and 4th, 5th and 6th, 7th and 8th.

The clubs in each seed pair are attracted to one of the two positions in the 16 rounds against the relative winner of the knockout phase play-offs, whose position was determined by the Knockout phase.
