TL; DR

  • A few months ago, we saw a few hints that hinted at Gemini integration in Android Auto.
  • Now we have managed to activate the UI for Gemini in Android Auto.
  • The feature is not responding yet.

Google is working hard to find ways to integrate Gemini into all of its products and services. Just yesterday, the company announced this during CES Google TVs there will be a Gemini integration soon. While the tech giant hasn’t officially announced anything yet, we discovered it back in August Android Auto It is also fate to taste the Gemini. At the time, we only saw code hinting at integration, but now we’ve managed to activate the UI.

Last year, we saw several hints indicating Gemini support in Android Auto v12.8.143544. Returning to the Android Auto app, we were able to activate this UI, which you can see in the screenshots below.

The old Assistant-style icon has been replaced with a new Gemini-style gradient icon. Tapping the microphone button will bring up the Gemini Live icon. When you activate Gemini, you will see “Ask Gemini” at the bottom of the screen. You will then have the opportunity to ask the AI ​​the question you have in mind. At the time of writing, only the UI seems to be working. We could not get the twins to answer our questions.

In related news, we have recently discovered Google is laying the groundwork to replace Assistant on Wear OS with Gemini. Users will be able to “talk back and forth” with the AI.
