Cognizant Classic: Jake Knapp holds the lead after delayed push in PGA National | Golf news

“A little across the country” is how Knapp describes things after the third round. “I feel like I played quite compact. I somehow judge a few things and I definitely did some bad swings.

“There are a lot of great players here who can go silly low, so I just have to try to get stuck in my game plan.”

The world no. 99 Knapp became only the 15th player in PGA Tour history to shoot a sub-60 round with a 59 no bogey in the first round of Cognizant Classic

Michael Kim, one of the many players in the short 15th hole, sits a stroke from the rhythm after a 67th.

“I put it around and pulled it out nine,” Kim said.

“I have a good opportunity to start tomorrow, which is all I can ask. I am sure I will be nervous, but as long as I feel my game is there, then I will know I have a chance.”
