Crypto exchange Phemex investigates hacking reports, drains $29 million from hot wallets

Singapore-based cryptocurrency exchange Phemex says it is “looking into” reports of a hack after one of its hot wallets was drained for $29 million worth of crypto tokens.

Crypto security firm Cyvers has reported “several suspicious transactions” across multiple blockchains of the Phemex hot wallet. Funds were exchanged for Ether (ETH).

“While we are looking into the report of one of our hot wallets, our cold wallets remain secure and everyone can check here, and will post more updates soon,” said Federico Variola, CEO of Phemex. Wrote on X.
