Curtis Jones makes surprising admission on Mohamed Salah, claims he’s not as good as ex-Chelsea winger

Curtis Jones says Eden Hazard was a better player than Liverpool team-mate Mohamed Salah.

Comparisons are often drawn between Hazard and Salah, given their similar short stature and the general brilliance the pair have brought to the Premier League.

And while Jones grew up watching Hazard and remains a huge fan, he says he would rather have Salah by his side.

The Liverpool man told TNT Sports ahead of tomorrow’s Champions League clash with Lille at Anfield: “I know he (Hazard) gets compared to Mo all the time. I have taken it up with Mo.

“As a player I watched him from a young age, I loved the game, I studied the game and I wanted to be like a player. I feel like it was Hazard who was him. Every game I saw him I was like wow… this is football.”

Jones added: “As a footballer is he better than Mo? In my opinion yes. But who would you rather have on your team? You’ll tell Mo why he gets your goals and assists.”

Jones’ verdict caused an uproar on social media, prompting Jones to reiterate his opinion on who he would rather play alongside.

Salah has been instrumental in Liverpool’s rise to the top of the Premier League table with 18 goals and 13 assists this season.
