For those wishing to coordinate in the action, the draw will be broadcast live UEFA’s official website.
The last 16 draw will place the eight Champions League winners against the eight sides that ended the top of the overall phase of the championship.
The clubs that have been automatically qualified for the last 16 are paired on the basis of the championship phase positions (eg 1 & 2, 3 & 4 etc.) and will face one of the two predetermined opponents – also dependent on the final Championship phase rankings and the Knockout Play-Off draw was established during the draw.
The draw not only determines the last 16 bonds, but also which side of the arm each club falls, which ultimately affects their course to the final. The first team coming from each couple will go to one side of the arm, with the other group positioned on the opposite side.
The bonds are two feet and the top eight clubs will host the second leg.
The eight teams that have reached the last 16 automatically based on the performance of the league phase have already known their potential opponents for the next round. Everyone will face one of the two teams – decided during the Play -ff draw – but will not discover their exact opposition to Friday’s tie.
