Gemini app adds 2.0 Experimental Advanced on Android, iOS


After submission in mid-DecemberGemini Advanced subscribers can now access Experimental Advanced 2.0 in the Gemini app on Android and iOS.
While Gemini 2.0 Flash Experimental has been available to all users since last month, Google has just rolled out Gemini 2.0 Experimental Advanced. Previously only available on the desktop/mobile website.
The Gemini-Exp-1206 offers “significantly improved performance on complex tasks such as coding, math, reasoning, and following instructions.” However, it “lacks access to real-time data and some Gemini features such as file uploads.”
The model that remains on top Chatbot Arena LLM Leaderboardcan be used to “solve complex coding problems, solve math problems for school or personal projects, or provide detailed, multi-step instructions for developing a tailored business plan.”


Tap the model switcher at the top of your screen. 2.0 Experimental Advanced joins 1.5 Flash, 1.5 Pro and 2.0 Flash Experimental. If you still don’t see it, force quit the Gemini/Google app on Android, in which case Google is one Update to Gemini app for iOS we are watching today last month’s bigger update.
Gemini Advanced requires a Google One AI Premium subscription ($19.99 per month).
It remains to be seen what model Gemini-Exp-1206 will be released as. It could be Gemini 2.0 Pro or another model above 2.0 Flash.
