Google is working with the Associated Press for more recent results on the Gemini app

As we develop new AI offerings and product experiences, such as the Gemini app, we introduced ourselves specific types of information and data that help improve our products and services for people everywhere.
For years, we’ve worked with The Associated Press (AP) to provide the most up-to-date and accurate information for Google Search features. To build on that collaboration, AP will now provide a feed of real-time information to help further improve the usefulness of the results displayed in the Gemini app. This is especially helpful for our users who are looking for the latest information.
“AP and Google’s long-standing relationship is based on working together to deliver timely, accurate news and information to global audiences,” said AP Senior Vice President and Chief Revenue Officer Kristin Heitmann. “We are pleased that Google recognizes the value of AP journalism as well as our commitment to nonpartisan reporting, to the development of generative AI products.”
Google has partnered and collaborated with news organizations of all sizes in countries around the world for more than two decades. This includes helping publishers grow their audience using Google Search, YouTube and the Gemini app, driving publisher revenue through our ad products, and providing tool to give publishers choice and control.
We believe AI is a transformative technology and we look forward to working with the news ecosystem to realize the benefits of AI and empower journalists, including tools like Pinpoint and initiatives such as JournalismAI Innovation Challengewhich is supportive 35 projects from 22 countries using AI technologies to help strengthen local journalism.
