By Chris Dalla Riva

If you ask people about the greatest years of popular music, maybe no year always comes in 1964. Of course, the most important thing in the past year and the British attack. But the year never last mentioned because more continued.

  • Rollings released their debut album

  • Motown becomes a dominant force in Pop Music, releasing four digits, three of the supremes

  • Bob Dylan drops two albums

  • Beach boys keep their run on hits

Sometimes it seems to have a lot of resulting releases a week than has been around the decades. Take the top five songs in Albo Heat 100 from the week of August 15 As an example:

  1. “Everybody loves someone” by Dean Martin

  2. “Where our love goes” to supremes

  3. “One night night” in the beatles

  4. “Rag Doll” by Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons

  5. “At the bottom of the boardwalk” in drivers

These are five songs I will always come back. And the weeks like this is still not rare in 1964. Just one week ago, there were the same songs with the main sons, “other than claiming that Dylan’s music was replaced by a new stone direction.

The one who claims to always interest me about 1964 so it is a line of demarcation between an old and a new way of making music. If you make hits in 1963 and don’t change your sound in 1964, you’ll wait for tables at 1965. In the British attacks in Britain focuses on artists. But does this happen?

The sound of rock music is undoubtedly changed between the beginning and a half in the 1960s. But by looking at Albo Hot 100, we can see if the sound change is made by a fleet of new groups or a set of old people.

To do this, I get a list of all 175 works releasing at least one top 40 children Rays. Overall, 88 of 175 acts, or 50%, there is no top 40 hit again.

That is different than many. In other words, the beatles and their fellow attackers are killing many races. Or are they? By seeing only one year we can be biased. And we.

If we calculate the same rate for each year between the 1960s and 2020, we see that while the killing rate of 1964 is high, it is not completely out of the ordinary. The median at the age of 40%. Having a multi-year career as a famous artist is just hard. By looking at years with a maximum price, we can shrink a few more things, however.

First, three of the top ten rates were 1962, 1963, and 1964. In other words, there was trust in Britain attacked many races. However, the fact that rates in 1962 and 1963 were the height telling me that Sonic changes were also working in the United States. If the Beatles did not arrive, the music of the stone may still increase in a way that can leave the leading hitmakers in the dust. That sonic evolution is different from the race.

Second, why are half of the years in the top 10 between 1990 and 1999? About it a data quirk. In 1991, Albo changed their chart method. One night, hip-hop and country is better represented in the chart. Thus, there is a ton of turnover. At the same time, I think we think of what the blinking music in the 1990s. Here are some oddly out of that decade I have noticed in discussing the revision of a Previous newsletter:

In other words, 1990 are odd. And I think we just started to ruin fatigue. Therefore, there is a ton of turnover on charts. It’s hard for artists to keep trends when Gangsta rap, swing, and a new type of pop pop are all successful in one year. Being a superstar is not easy.

The gathering of this data has provided me to think of which artists have survived most musical changes and found success. While there were artists, like Elton John and the stone stones, which put hits for several decades, I wanted to teach an artist whose strength was shocked by me: Frankie Valli.

Born in 1934, Valli was his first hit in 1962 with “Sherry,” a song made by his group in four seasons. Before the Beatles grew up in American Shores, Valli and his companions with eight top 40 hits. But they are the kind of group you want to understand the new sound music sound. The four seasons were kind of a throwback even in 1963, Valli and his error pointing to Doo-Wop over the last decade.

But Valli and his companions gathered together. They make some musical missteps but they remain a musical power until 1967, released classic bonafides, like “can’t look at you.” Okay. So he saved British advancement. Others also made. But Valli didn’t succeed while the 1960s was about.

In 1974, he scored a lot of hits in “my eyes worshiped you,” a song that was well played with the soft stone that dominated time. Then the boom was started and Valli remained no reason. “Damn God.” “Who loves you.” “December, 1963 (Oh, what a night).” The person cannot be blocked.

The fact that Valli is leading the 1978 charts with “grease” branching in my mind. I don’t think anyone heard the “sherry” in 1962 thinking he was inside a country mile in charts 12 years ago. At the time to hit music Jersey kids made about his life in 2005, his story was strong. But before it, I tapped my cap.

“Nosebleeds” by Dochii
2025 – Alternative Rap

I admit that I went to the DOETII train. As many more, I first listened to his album Alligator bites never heal After it won the best rap album in 67 grammy awards. No matter how late I am, I am happy to be here today. Dogetai Dextrous is not just a rapper but all of his beats are groovy and twitchy in a way that is heard fresh. “Nosebleeds,” his victory wins after Gorma victory, have all the things shown.

An old one
“Bread and butter” in newbeats
1964 – Pop Rock

As I admire 1964, I noticed that the week of October 10 had a thought that was mainly five. It includes’ on, beautiful woman of Roy Orbison, “Manfred Mann” didddy diddy, “Martha & The Shangellas'” “Here Shangri-Las'” There’s a song I’m not familiar, though: “bread and butter” in newbies.

“The bread and butter” It is fun, a little new to bread, butter, grill, jam, and loss of your lover. The best thing about the song is a half-bothered error to see every time the whole song Larry Henley makes. In fact, Henley is another good example of music stability. After her career career finished, she wrote a few hits for decades, including widespread 1989 in Bette Midler under my wings. “
