Jota Transfer News: Celtic Re-Sign Winger from Rennes to £ 8 million Agree only 18 months after £ 25 million Saudi Exit | Football news

Jota returned to Celtic in an agreement of £ 8m – just 18 months after leaving Scotland champions for £ 25cm.
The Portuguese wing arrives from Rennes and has signed a five and a half year agreement on Parkhead, without prejudice to international clearance, which will see him remain in the club until June 2030.
In 2023, Jota changed Celtic for a big money move on Saudi Al ittihad But he stayed outside the club’s championship team and was on the margins of the original XI for the Asian Champions League matches.
He then moved to Rennes last summer, but the appointment of the new director Jorge Sampaoli left the player looking for another move – and has his desire after returning to Celtic.
Jota initially moved to Benfica loan in 2021 before signing a five -year agreement next season.
The former Benfica player scored 28 goals and provided 26 assists in 83 appearances, as well as earned five big prices with the Parkhead Club.
‘Feels right’
Whom Speaking to the media for the first time since he returned to the club:
“Once I really had the time to think about it and understand that this was the best step for my career right now. I felt like, ‘Okay, let’s go once again’ and just feels right.
“It’s obviously a year and a half with some difficulties. Mostly inside the court where I didn’t have a lot of opportunities to play and obviously it’s not my best time, but that will come quickly with minutes, playing time, workouts and just can’t wait.
“I just know some of the boys, I think only nine players remain since the last time, but there are definitely a lot of talents, there is room for improvement and under Brendan’s orders. I think there is a good environment for growth and to win things.
“I have learned a lot of things. I have met myself in different ways that I didn’t know and I think it’s all positive at the end of the day because I’m much more mature. I have a different vision of what I want and what I want to achieve.
“I know myself very much. So in the end that’s what I get from it.”
Rodgers: Jota can develop Celtic Legacy
Celtic director Brendan Rodgers I am looking forward to finally working with the wing:
“A completely incredible addition to our team, given what he did here before and his properties.
“He was a player who when I came back the first time, I was really, I really look forward to working. I had seen playing for Celtic, of course, and saw the impact he made on target creation, score.
“Almost before I arrived, it was very clear that he was gone. That was disappointing.
“I’ve talked to him. The challenge is always, and I know through first -hand experience, is that when you have created a legacy, many people will tell you to come back and maybe to be engraved in any way.
“My feeling and advice to him were. I returned and raised this heritage to be even greater.
“If you are not happy at work where you are or how it goes for you, you know that this is a place where you will improve. You will develop.
“It’s at a different time in his life and now, even though it’s been a few years, I think he will return with a real motivation, he has an undeniable quality.”
