Luke Littler from the World Masters Darts after a 4-2 defeat to Jonny Clayton, as Stephen Bunting also comes out | News news

Luke Littler was sent by crashing outside the world-class Darts on Sunday afternoon, suffered a stunning 4-2 defeat to Jonny Clayton in the quarter-finals.

The 18 -year -old world champion was an overwhelming favorite against the world No. 7 and on average an impressive 108.5 in the match, but refused to end as Clayton hit nine of 15 darts in one double.

Clayton amazed at Littler with a wonderful 138 finish to get the first set, but the 18 -year -old won the next two legs to level the race immediately.

“This stage I like,” 2021 champion Clayton said to ITV afterwards.

“Luke didn’t obviously play the A-Game game but it’s a battle and got over the line. I can smile a big smile.

“It’s a shot, a big player’s arrows and has a great future ahead of him. He gave me a big lesson the last two games I played against him.

“All the jokes on the edge, went on my way. It was my day.”

Clayton will face Dimitri van den Bergh In the semifinals, after the Belgian struck a comfortable away Nathan Aspinall 4-1.

ASP showed some resistance by winning the second set, but could not match Van Den Bergh for much of the match and eventually lost a remarkable final leg.

Aspinall opened with seven perfect arrows before losing the T19 in his pursuit of nine – unarmed, but eventually lost his leg – and basically the race – when he lost three darts in double.

Van den Bergh punished him with the blows of the peaks and then the D10 to seal the victory with a 11-plow leg.

Previously, Stephen Bunting’s Defending Masters’s title ended in a dramatic way as it lost two races darts in one last leg to lose 4-3 in Danny burst.
