Manchester United have been in touch to sign a £40m+ midfielder to coach Reuben Amorimaccording to a recent report.

Amorim has made this clear in his recent release press conference that Man Utd are keen to do some business in the January transfer window and he, along with the hierarchy, will keep their eyes open for potential deals. However, what they can do this month looks set to depend on which players leave the club in the coming weeks.
Striker Joshua Zirkzee could be a player who paves the way for the Red Devils to land an upgrade. A recent report claimed this Zirkzee in talks to leave United and join Italian giants Juventus. The Serie A side are said to be in talks with the striker’s representatives but would prefer a loan move rather than the permanent move United want.

As talks to sign a new striker continue, according to TEAMtalk, Manchester United and INEOS have been in contact for the signing of midfielder Davide Fratesi from Inter Milan.
The 25-year-old, who has been described as “specific” by journalist Wayne Girard, joined Inter on a permanent basis in the summer. Fratesi joined the Serie A champions on loan from Sassuolo for the 2023/24 campaign and then made the deal permanent during the summer transfer window.
Frattesi is under contract until the summer of 2028, but Man United appear keen to bring him to England in 2025. TEAMtalk reports that the Red Devils have inquired about the midfielder’s availability, but face strong competition from Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur. as well as Roma.
Fratesi has started just eight of the 21 games he has played for Inter this season, but despite not being a regular in the squad, Inter are not looking to sell him or any other players until at least after the Club World Cup this summer. If United are going to sign Fratesi then they will have to pay up 41.5 million poundsas this is what Inter appreciates. Amorim could be in the market for a new midfielder as Christian Eriksen looks set to leave when his contract expires at the latest. Casemiro is also being linked with an exit once again and Mason Mount’s injury problems continue.
