Manchester United are stepping up transfer talks

Manchester United want to speed up transfer talks for Paris Saint-Germain left-back Nuno Mendes amid growing interest from two rivals.
Sources with a close understanding of the situation said CaughtOffside that talks are continuing over a potential deal for Mendes with Man Utd, but that Real Madrid are also looking at the Portugal international, while Manchester City have also started monitoring the situation.
The Red Devils appear to be the most advanced with their interest at the moment, but are yet to make any significant progress in negotiations, with PSG having up to €65m left for Mendes, even though his contract expires in 2026 . .

Real Madrid are also in need of a new left-back and appear to be moving away from their main target, Alphonso Davies now, as he looks increasingly open to signing a new contract with Bayern Munich.
Ruben Amorim sees Mendes as an ideal signing for the left wing-back role at United, but that saga now seems a bit more up in the air.
What’s next for Nuno Mendes amid interest from Manchester United and Real Madrid?

On top of everything else, it is understood that Mendes could also be open to signing a new contract with PSG, so it is difficult to predict the outcome of this saga at the moment.
MUFC will no doubt continue to push to try and land the talented 22-year-old, but one imagines the player himself would view City and Madrid as more tempting projects at the moment.
Amorim is in desperate need of signings of his own to help turn things around at Old Trafford, so will no doubt be hoping the club can land a top talent like Mendes.
If not, we know United have alternatives in that position, as Fabrizio Romano recently informed us.
Romano says Milos Kerkez and Patrick Dorgu They will also be names to watch for United and one imagines the fans would be very happy with either of those two, even if Mendes looks the strongest option out there at the moment.
