Manchester United refuse to rule out sale of ‘brave’ star despite Amorim’s wishes

As Manchester United set to rebuild under the new manager, INEOS are reportedly refusing to rule out the sale of a young player who Reuben Amorim at the moment he is happy with.
Manchester United transfer news
With a trip to Anfield and Premier League Leaders Liverpool then Manchester United could be just five points clear of the relegation zone and enter the second half of the campaign on the back of four successive defeats. This isn’t just an early season blip. The campaign enters the new year, we’re past Christmas and even Amorim couldn’t rule out a thrilling relegation battle
Now to the point of despair, Amorim is reportedly demanding Sir Jim Ratcliffe sign Viktor Gyokeres already this month in an attempt to save Manchester United’s season. However, on so-called money, it seems unlikely that the Red Devils co-owner will pay up to £80m to sign the Sporting Club forward in the January transfer window.
Instead, Ratcliffe’s focus could once again turn to fundraising. According to GiveMeSport, INEOS refuses to rule out sale of Tyrell Malacia although Amorim is currently happy with the defender.
The left-back has suffered several injury setbacks over the past two years but has shown enough form to suggest he is worth the wait during his debut in 2022/23.
However, still struggling on the fitness front, INEOS could be listening to offers as Juventus begin to circle Malacia’s signature and be alert to his potential availability this month.

Given the way Manchester United have struggled for options on the left – often turning on out-of-position Diogo Dalot – showing Malaysia the door would certainly be a controversial move.
Manchester United must keep the “brave” Malaysia
Still only 25 and trying to come back from an injury nightmare, even Ratcliffe’s streak of toughness shouldn’t stand in the way of Malacia playing a part in Amorim’s plans. The left wing-back position is there for the taking and once he returns to full fitness, the Dutchman could grab that opportunity with both hands ahead of the equally injury-prone Luke Shaw.
Amorim was quick to praise Malacia when he initially returned from a long-term injury against Bodo/Glimt in the Europa League earlier this season, telling reporters as reported by Tribal Football: “It’s been massive for him and I think he’s done really well. He hasn’t played for more than a year, but he was so brave on the ball that I’m really happy for him.
INEOS have a lot of other issues to sort out before they show players like Malacia that the door also becomes a priority. The Red Devils are in desperate need of a clinical striker and could certainly do with a back line capable of flourishing in three backs. Of course, the left-back area needs addressing, but the return of Malacia will play a part in solving that problem.
