My T-MOBILE Home Internet experience: 5 things I love and have a few things I can do without

Albuquerque, New Mexico. The house of green chiggers, more than 300 days of sunlight, international balloon fiesta … and a little slow internet. Home Internet was a race of two horses in Albuquerque For years: CenturyLink DSL and Xfinity cable. I had decades in DSL, I watch my Internet speed tests Slowly slowly up to 20 megands per second. Friends, the company’s customer service, company’s customer service, information caps and prices, so I stubborn with stubborn Centurlink. A day in late 2022 a T-Mobile Home Internet Gateway came to my house. After that, I finally called to cancel CenturyLink.

Here’s how I went to the T-Mobile Home Internet

I went with T-Mobile for several reasons. DSL was very slow. The next door to the next door T-Mobile took the online and starred this. By chance, Centuryllink wanted to pay me $ 200 to replace my old router with a newer new one. I said, “Nope” and changed 5G Home Internet.

My home internet life has improved in my post-DSL world, but not all flowers and happy dances. If you are looking for a tl here, you’re going here: I’m still on T-Mobile home internet and I’ll probably paste as much as I can give Verizon 5G Home Internet Until a try or fiber finally shows in the block. My experience with 5G home internet is inherent in my situation, so your journey can be different with the same service. 5g home internet and things I like about my elements that can handle me Go to another internet service provider one day.

What about T-Mobile Home Internet

I will read the definition of T-Mobile Home Internet before venting my complaints. The best features of the service are the ease of its simplicity and use and represents an update in an obsolete DSL.

The price is right

With CenturyLink, I was paying $ 45 per month for 20MB / s. My monthly bill with T-Mobile is flat $ 50. This is a sweet place for me for home internet prices. I was ready to pay a little more than CenturyLink for a high service standard, but the bargain-hunting mindset is higher. I would consider Verizon 5G home internet for the same price, but the rival service is unavailable to my address.

I think one day will come, but I will investigate the prices before making changes. Two providers, which are highly likely to serve my address, and Vexus fiber for a concert ($ 69 per month) and $ 500mb / month per month $ 40 per month or $ 40 per gig per month). Vexus increases the rates after the first year. When it comes to time, I will pull ingred frugality against fiber performance.

Faster than DSL

This may seem like a weak definition, but T-Mobile provides me better speeds than I received from DSL. My best speed test results, 10 times a day with DSL, 10 times a net top loading speeds. Speeds can be changeable for network congestion and placement of a gateway device. I have some speed complaint, but we will talk later.

Conditions are simple

I don’t like complexity when it comes to broadband plans. I do not want to calculate equipment rental fees or to understand more than A -I penalties information. I don’t want to be especially The contract was closed. I just want to be free to try home internet and another ISP. T-Mobile ticks in the simplicity box. No transmission fees, data cap or contracts.

Approved by the mother

My mother lives six blocks from me. He also had Centurylink DSL. I ran a speed test on the desktop and the best he could get was 12Mbps. This is not type. Some DSL is a reality for customers. He payed more than $ 60 a month, and every time he tried to discuss his bill. There is no problem, mom. We have canceled the DSL and signed with T-Mobile. Found a beautiful perch for the door in the front window near the computer. With a strong signal, it can slide it quickly quickly from 100-200mb / s, it is also very good for its low key crawl and flow needs. The only negative aspect receives text messages on the closure of the school with a group that uses its door before its door phone number. It’s a small nervousness and I don’t have the same problem.

Gateways is easy

T-Mobile, a modem and a free sluice device that mells a router features. I have a semi-friendly silver Nokia Gateway that was pushed as “trash”. The top-up screen is a light nervous and hot because it is awkward, but it works. T-Mobile now has newer models. My mother has a SagemCom device on a front-mounted screen that looks like a more elegant trash. The newest gateway seems to be smoother and an apple product. I did not have a problem I found Nokia Gateway and my mother’s Sagemcom. We were online in a few minutes and not to inform the stable of the gateways, accidents or other hiccups. Wi-Fi works well to reach the corners of our grape houses.

Why not all good things with T-Mobile home internet

T-Mobile home internet has a lot to do this, but this is not a broadband service of my dreams. There are several areas that stumble from here.

Cable or faster than fiber

Xfinity offers cable speed to 1,200 MB / s in my house. Fiber from Vexus fiber, How much fiber And the Ezee fiber is slowly spread along Albuquerque, but not yet in my historical neighborhood. Fiber clients can enter the symmetrical concert speeds I am incredibly envied. T-Mobile Home offers an 87-415mb / S typical speed offered below the Internet, local cable and fibrous ISPs. The good news I’m not player (let Nintendo wii ignore the obsession), surf and flow enough oomph. I will not pull zipper downloads and downloads when I move large music, video and image files around.

Strong signals can be missed

T-Mobile’s 5G Internet service is subject to the same traps you face with the phone service. Sometimes, you are in a place with a weak signal. Sometimes this place is your own house. My neighbor, the first person on the board with 5G home internet, gets a strong signal on the west side of his house. The next door is the best I can get, a fair signal that works five to two bar on the Gateway scale. This means I miss the highest speed that is capable of service.

Speeds may change wildly

T-Mobile Home is like an Internet speed albuquerque air. Wait five minutes and will change. I just ran an internet speed test and have 16.7Mbps. My DSL is slow enough to give me reluctant flashbacks to my day. I was in 94.6Mbps a few minutes later. Sometimes I get more than 100MB / s. Usually, I sit around 80Mbps. My speed tests are on the map. Some of them may be due to the fact that my house is not able to place well for 1939 construction materials and a better signal. My CNET colleague Eli Blumenthal faced fast problems while testing the service in 2022. When CNET’s Joe Suppan Try AT & T Internet EtherOf course, he struggled with protecting a worthy speed, so the issue of T-Mobile Home can be more endemic for stable wireless service because it is special to the Internet.

The window placement is awkward

T-Mobile Recommend Your Gateway’s “Close to a window or above the floor or above the bookshelf.” When I was DSL, my router sat on a special shelf in my house office. This was unobstructed and out of the way. T-Mobile Gateway visited every window in my house where I was looking for a strong signal. Now in my salon, which is the silver “trash”, is now in a window. I’m still a solid Wi-Fi coverage around my house, but an internet equipment sitting in my window is not my ideal home decor.

T-Mobile Home Thoughts about my internet experience

Do you think your toes t-Mobile do not immerse on home internet? Imagine whether there is an upgrade in your current service. If you crawl with the DSL, it can be a smart move. If you need consistent and super fast speeds for the game, then see cable or fiber. I’m not a T-Mobile Phone client, but mobile users can connect with suitable phone plans to save additional savings on home internet. Price can be sufficient to include conscious buyers in 5G Internet service.

There is an element of experience with 5G home internet. You don’t know how well it will work for you until you try this, so T-Mobile’s 15-day money takes advantage. I’m not in love with the Internet on my house, but at least I like it and is a better relationship than I live with DSL.
