Odobert in double to keep spurs hopes alive

Tottenham completed a recovery of the second leg to close a place in the Europa Legaue quarter-finals with a 3-1 win over AZ Alkmaar.

AZ traveled to north London 1-0 from last week’s first leg, in which Spurs produced a serious sluggish performance.

But the side of the ange Postcoglou dominated this time, Wilson Odobert and James Maddison put them ahead at night.

Peer Koopmeiners tied the last-16 draw in the inert after some scary defense, but Odobert had a completely decisive reason in the 74th minute, when he was converted from a close distance at the end of an excellent attack to send Tottenham to a last meeting with Eintracht Frankfurt.

Tottenham vs the alkmaar

Tottenham made a much brighter start, but struggled to create a lot in the manner of clear probability. This was until Son Heung-Min pressured Az to lose his possession in his own half, the ball ran to the Dominic Solanke trail, who relentlessly square for Odobert to put his first goal in the 26th minute.

AZ has little offered as an aggressive force in response to the early stages of the second half to the front leg.

But they fell back for the first time in the 48th minute, the son in the spotlight again, as his square pass was cool in the lower right corner by Maddison.

It seems that there is no way back to the game for AZ, but Spurs gave them a 15 minutes after going to the tie.

Lucas Bergvall and Odobert created to divert the ball straight to the Koopmeiners trail, who did not need a second invitation as it fell beyond Guglielmo Vicario.

However, Spurs continued to dictate the process and the target that installed the tie was the best of the night. A wonderful move by the free -flowing team that started deeply in their own half ended with Djed Spence hitting a left cross for Solanke, who pushed the ball well to hit Odobert to hit his second.

However, Tottenham was very comfortable and seeing a worthy triumph and Az would have been leveled if not for Vicario’s reflexes and the intention of defending Yves Bissouma, the latter, mixing to keep Mees de Wit for the recovery after his goalkeeper.

Tottenham showed a little desire to take into account that the warning and AZ were replaced by Mexx Meerdink headed over another excellent opportunity, with Maarten Martens left to overcome their incompatibility, as the Spurs hangs to keep their hopes for silver.
