Pakistan announces squad for ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup 2025; Komal Khan in the lead

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has unveiled the 15-member squad that will represent Pakistan in the upcoming edition ICC Women’s Under-19 T20 World Cup 2025is scheduled to begin at malaysia from 18 January to 2 February 2025. This announcement marks a major step for Pakistan women’s cricket as it aims to make a mark on the international stage after its commendable performance in the inaugural tournament in 2023.
Komal Khan will lead the Pakistan U19 women’s team
At the head of the squad is the dynamic batting goalkeeper Komal Khanto whom the captaincy has been entrusted. His vice-captain, Zoofishan Ayyazhe also brings leadership experience, having captained the team at the recent U19 Asia Cup. The team selection reflects a mix of experience and emerging talent, with several players from the previous tournament returning to the squad.
Training camp scheduled from December to January in Karachi
The team’s preparation includes a rigorous training camp at the Hanif Mohammad High Performance Center in Karachi, set from December 31 to January 9, 2025. This camp is crucial for fine-tuning strategies, improving fitness and building team cohesion. After the camp, the team will fly to Malaysia via Dubai on January 10, 2025 to acclimatize and participate in warm-up matches before the tournament begins.

Pakistan Group B Matches and Tournament Schedule
Pakistan are placed in Group B alongside formidable teams like England, Irelandand the USA. Their campaign kicks off against the USA on 18 January, followed by a match against England on 20 January, and concludes the group stage against Ireland on 22 January. The team’s performance in the group stage will determine their progression to the Super Six stage, where they will aim to secure a place in the semi-finals.
trainer Mohsin Kamalwho led the team to the Super Six stage of the 2023 tournament, will once again guide this promising squad. His experience and understanding of the Under-19 level is expected to be key to meeting the challenges of the World Cup.
