Pixel notification rejection sync may soon be more versatile

Although access to all these equipment can be very convenient, when we move between them and have to repeat the same tasks over and over again, like following all your notifications, it can be the slightest bit annoying. with Android 15Pixel hardware just got a handy new trick for managing notifications across multiple devices, and now we’re seeing evidence that it could soon evolve to be even more useful.

“Dismiss notifications on Pixel devices” arrived as a new notification option in Android 15. This feature works at the account level, and when enabled, dismissing a notification on one Pixel phone or tablet will also dismiss it on all other Pixel devices currently logged into the same device. account.

It’s great for what it does, but there’s a little asterisk attached to Google’s app, and syncing notifications between all your Pixel gear will only happen when those devices are online via Wi-Fi, not cellular data.

Looking at version 1.0.687093228_arm64-v8a_release_phone of Google’s Device Connectivity Service app, we’ve managed to discover code attached to a new switch that appears to allow users to overcome this limitation and even sync notifications over mobile networks.

Currently, this switch is not available to the user, and based on how it is currently implemented, it is still a work in progress. However, we don’t see a good reason why Google shouldn’t give users this option, even if there is a small impact on battery life.

Right now, it’s hard to say when Google will fully implement this option and make it live, but based on how simple it looks, we’d be surprised to see any significant delay.
