Player ratings as Pedro’s penalty forces the Gunners to equalise

Brighton came from behind to hold Arsenal to a 1-1 draw in front of their home fans on Saturday night.
Arsenal’s 17-year-old starlet Ethan Nuaneri stroked the Gunners into an early lead. Fresh from his the first start of the Premier Leaguethe prodigious academy graduate bagged his second goal on top, making a third burst down the right before slotting the ball into the bottom corner.
Brighton they fought their way back into the contest, taking advantage of the visitors’ slopping play to win possession in the final third on several occasions. However, the home side’s wastefulness in front of goal prevented them from punishing ArsenalThe loose game of the first half.
Mikel Arteta’s side didn’t wake up from their self-imposed slumber from Brighton’s obvious threat and opened up the start of the second half until the Seagulls earned a spot-kick. Joao Pedro won and converted the 61st minute penalty after winning an aerial challenge on the wayward William Saliba.
A disappointing draw leaves Arsenal five points clear of leaders Liverpool, who have two games in hand against the Gunners. Brighton’s fourth sole point on the spin was enough to help them climb into the top half Premier League table.
