RCB Star breaks silence in last -minute withdrawal from the league and the decision on the franchise
England Pacer Kate Cross, maintained by Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), announced its retirement from the Premier League of 2025. In her recovery from a back injury.
Cross and New Zealand, Sophie Devine, were excluded from the upcoming women’s Premier League despite being maintained by the royal bengaluru challengers after last year’s successful campaign. In response, RCB was named Heather Graham and Kim Garth as their replacements earlier this week.

A week before the start of the tournament, Kate Cross retired from the competition to focus on full recovery, both mentally and physically. In an emotional position, Cross said that the recovery of injuries and general well -being are necessary in front of a busy international cricket program in the summer.
“My decision to leave WPL was difficult, but I have to spend time to restore my injury fully and prioritize my mental and physical well -being in front of a great summer,” Cross said in an instagram position.
“I am exiled to miss my time with RCB this year, but I wish @smriti_mandhana and the girls all my luck in defense of the trophy! I will support everyone from home,” he added.
RCB replied to Cross’ Instagram Post and commented: “We can’t wait to see you back in the field, Crossy! I wish you a quick recovery.”
Kate Cross still to make her debut in the women’s Premier League
The 33 -year -old English Pacer has not yet made her debut in the women’s Premier League. In the female T20IS, she got 14 wicked in 18 races on average 30.50, with her best figures being 2/18.
The cross was signed by the royal challengers Bengaluru for 30 Lakh before the 2024 WPL era. Since she made her international debut in 2013, she has played 18 T20IS, 72 ODIS and 8 tests for England. Interestingly, Cross also worked as a commentator during the launch of the championship.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru to deal with Gujarat’s giants in WPL 2025 opener
The third edition of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2025 will be played in four cities – Vadodara, Bengaluru, Lucknow and Mumbai. Royal Challengers Bengaluru will face Gujarat Giants (GG) in the opening race of the upcoming T20 tournament at Vadodara, which will host six matches.
The RCB led by Smriti Mandhana will play its first home game against the Mumbai Indians (MI) at M Chinnaswamy Stadium on February 21. The Ekana Stadium in LuckNow is going to host four matches. The final phase of the championship, including knockout matches, will take place at Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai.
