If Campos wins in his fight against Daud Yordan on March 22, Hitchins would like to fight him this summer in New York. The race could focus on a possible big card sometime in June. Campos is the man who defeated Teofimo Lopez (21-1, 13 kos) and his ability to defeat him will prove that he is worth a match against Teo.
Hitchins would like to face Teofimo later in the year, awaiting future events, to successfully beat the Campos in the summer and Teofimo to defeat Arnold Barboza Jr. On May 2, the possible super race could be on the horizon. “I think if Teofimo wins, Richardson Hitchins and Teofimo is the struggle that Turki Alalshikh wants. It’s a big struggle. Let’s hope we can integrate. I’ll do my job. Let’s hope he can do his job and unify,” he said. With the support of Turki, although both fighters are successful, the race must be implemented.
Now that he is a champion, Hitchins is looking to overcome himself at the top of the 140 -pound section and finally at the top of the sport. He is looking for the biggest matches and is looking to fight the biggest names in the sport. When asked about his future plans, Hitchins said: “Maybe it’s another unification race, or maybe a race in 147, Ryan Garcia – Devin Haney, really doesn’t matter.” Hitchins intends to unify to 140 and knows that a jump in 147 is inevitable. Facing the named opponents, he would have won him Super Startam and victories against them with his place between the elite of the sport.
The Super Lightweight Division is one of the most exciting sections in the sport, as there have been many title changes in the last year and multiple twists. Subriel Matias, Rolly Romero, Isaac Cruz, Liam Paro and Jose Valenzuela suffered league loss in the past year and everyone is the top candidates who want to recover the glory of the league. Hitchins is looking to integrate division and a potential matchup with any today’s champion would be great for the sport.
