Sam Konstas’ unorthodox shots against Jasprit Bumrah gave the legendary player a ‘heart attack’

Australian Open Constas himself he announced his arrival in Test Cricket with a bang. Konstas made some very bold moves and was fearless in his test debut. Not many would have predicted that he would take India’s best bowler jasprit bumrah activated
But the youngster was determined and fearless enough to showcase his aggressive batting style against the best bowler in the world. Steve Smith, the only centurion in this Test so far, recently spoke of watching Konstas from the dugout.
While the 19-year-old was going at a good pace, the Australian dressing room was enjoying his batting. As soon as he completed his fifty, the dressing room rose to its feet to applaud the youngster.

Steve Smith talks about Sam Konstas unorthodox shots on Jasprit Bumrah
After the end of play on the second day, Steve Smith was asked about the innings of Sam Konstas on his debut in the press conference. Smith praised the young man’s confidence and claimed he is not afraid of anything.
Smith also praised the way Konstas was playing shots as Jasprit Bumrah’s first reverses and claimed he had a heart attack while watching those shots in the dugout.
“I think I’m not too bothered by the kid, as we saw yesterday. He was reverse-ramping (Jasprit) Bumrah for a six and I was having a heart attack in the box. But look, I thought everything was fine. No stress,” Smith told reporters.
Sam Konstas’ aggressive style against Jasprit Bumrah
Sam Konstas tried to play unorthodox strokes with India’s spearhead Jasprit Bumrah from the third over of the match. However, he failed to connect any of them as Bumrah smiled back.
However, that didn’t stop Konstas from trying to make those shots. In Bumrah’s next over, he played a scoop for a four and then smashed it for a six with a reverse scoop.
These shots fired up Konstas and he went on to play some more flashy shots in a rousing display of batsmanship. He even smashed Jasprit Bumrah for a longer six which shows his confidence and fearless attitude.
In between, Konstas was also involved in a physical altercation with Virat Kohli in which the two players were found to be bumping shoulders. The ICC later found Kohli guilty of the incident and fined the former India captain.
Sam Konstas gets Australia off to a flying start
Konstas smashed 60 off 65 balls and stitched an excellent 89-run partnership for the first wicket with Usman Khawaja. The openers laid a solid foundation for Australia as they scored a mammoth total of 474 on the board. Steve Smith was Australia’s top scorer with an excellent 140 off 197 balls.
Sam Konstas had replaced Nathan McSweeney in this match after the latter returned disappointing scores in the first three Tests of the series. McSweeney found himself without against Jasprit Bumrah with the new ball and couldn’t seem to find an answer for him.
