Samsung Galaxy S25 officially starts at $799, it’s all about AI

Samsung is launching its new Galaxy S25 series this week, a trio of new devices that don’t bring as many hardware upgrades, but lean more towards AI features at the same price.
Starting with the flagship, the Galaxy S25 Ultra gets a few hardware tweaks. The screen and hardware corners are now rounded, taking a slight departure from the Galaxy Note’s design. The screen has also grown from 6.8 to 6.9 inches, and the entire phone is lighter at 218g, despite having the same 5,000mAh battery that’s been around since 2020’s Galaxy S20 Ultra.
The Galaxy S25 Ultra also gets an upgrade in the camera department. The 200-megapixel main camera is now paired with a 50-megapixel sensor for ultra-wide shots, rather than the 12-megapixel sensor used in the last few generations. There is also a 50MP telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom and a 10MP camera with 3x optical zoom. The front camera is still a 12MP sensor.
Under the hood, the Galaxy S25 Ultra comes in three configurations – 256GB, 512GB and 1TB of storage, all with 12GB of RAM. This memory allocation is also shared with the Galaxy S25 and S25+, as this year you’ll find 12GB of RAM on every Galaxy S25 device, and no variant will have 16GB of RAM. However, all Galaxy S25 devices will use the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy, a slightly tweaked version of Qualcomm’s 2025 flagship mobile chip. Samsung also increased the vapor chamber by 15% on the S25 and S25+, and 40% on the S25 Ultra.
The Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25+ are similar to their Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25+ predecessors, with 6.2- and 6.7-inch displays, 50-megapixel main, 12-megapixel ultra-wide and 10-megapixel 3x telephoto cameras, and the same 4,000 mAh and 4,900 mAh batteries. that has not changed. Charging rates remain at 25W and 45W, respectively, and the base Galaxy S25 still starts at 128GB of storage.

All three devices come with Android 15 and One UI 7, with 7 years of operating system and security updates.
Samsung too Adopting “Qi2 Ready”. With the Galaxy S25 series. This means that Samsung will offer some first-party magnetic cases and accessories that work with Qi2 (and MagSafe). The phones themselves don’t have any magnets, but you can find certain third-party cases with support.
The main focus of the Galaxy S25 series is not so much on the hardware. Instead, it’s all about AI.
Most of them equipped with Gemini improvements, Samsung uses “AI agents” in One UI 7 on the Galaxy S25 to make the experience of using your phone easier. This includes improvements to Google services, such as Circle to Search improvements, a new ability to “chain” interactions with Gemini commands and apps, and support for accessing Gemini with a long press of the Galaxy S25’s power button. Samsung apps also get Gemini extensions for deeper integration. When it comes to Samsung’s Galaxy AI features, various improvements are coming. Generative Editing can now recognize a person’s shadow and remove it when you remove it, Short Now can summarize your day, and Samsung Gallery can find photos using natural language. The Privacy Engine may also analyze your personal data on the device to tailor experiences to you while respecting your privacy.
As for prices, nothing changes in the US and many other major markets. $799 for the base Galaxy S25 (128GB), $999 for the Galaxy S25+ (256GB), and $1,299 for the Galaxy S25 Ultra (256GB). Galaxy S25 and S25+ in Navy, Icyblue, Mint and Silver Shadow colors, Blueblack, Coralred and
Pinkgold is available through Samsung.com. The Galaxy S25 Ultra comes in Titanium Silver Blue, Titanium White Silver, Titanium Gray and Titanium Black – just remember this phone has a titanium frame – with Titanium Pinkgold, Titanium Jetblack and Titanium Jadegreen available on Samsung.com. Yes, Samsung spelled the color names that way on purpose… for some reason.
