Scottie Scheffler will appear at AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am at first event by Christmas injury
Scottie Scheffler has committed to playing AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-AM next week, his first competition since his right hand was injured while preparing a Christmas dinner.
Scheffler said at the beginning of the week that the recovery was going well and was willing to return, but that he was not going to “sink back only to rush back”.
Scheffler tied the sixth last year to AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-am, Live On Sports Since January 30, when it was reduced to 54 holes due to heavy wind and rain.
It will be Scheffler’s first time to play a tournament since winning the Hero World Challenge in the Bahamas for the second consecutive year in December.
Scheffler also worked with Rory Mcilroy in Las Vegas to win a match for television that lasted only 14 holes against Brooks Koepka and Bryson Dechambeau.
The 28 -year -old said he was unable to touch a club while letting his right hand cure from the surgery that removed the glass and said, “It was quite unusual for me to not be able to do much in the gym.”
Scheffler had to lose The Sentry in Kapalua and the American Express last week in the California desert and didn’t reveal when he would be right enough to play again.

Scheffler said he “lived almost a full life this year” after securing the FedExCup victory, covering a season of “nuts” – both on the golf course.
The 28 -year -old became the first player to win players, Masters and FedExCup in the same season.
Scheffler ended a square victory in the tour of the season, where he never resigned from the first place at any point during the four days and became the first player by Tiger Woods to record seven or more wins in a year PGA Tour.
After winning the Masters for the second time in three years, he was arrested and accused in front of his second round in the PGA Championship in May.
The accusations later fell with Scheffler winning the next two signature events – the Memorial Tournament and Travelers Championship – before securing gold for Team USA at the Paris Olympics and won the PGA Tour’s FedEXCup for the first time in his career.
