Tank Davis Wants To “Tax” Ryan Garcia Again… For $150 Million!

Gervonta Davis says he’ll fight Ryan Garcia again to “tax his a**,” but wants $150 million for the rematch. That’s the firm asking price and he’ll wait to be sent before agreeing to fight the young social media star again.

Two years ago, Davis (30-0, 28 KOs) knocked Garcia out in the seventh round, albeit with the benefit of two-end weight specifications a 136-lb catch weight limit and a 10-lb rehydration limit.

Surprisingly, Ryan (24-1, 20 KOs) agreed to both, and that was his undoing because he seemed to heat up to death during the fight. He looked thin and sickly.

Tank and his management got over Garcia, who was desperate and naive about the world at the time, and foolishly agreed. What a dummy. I bet Tank and his team were laughing at Ryan when he agreed to that handicap.

Tank’s $150M Fantasy

“I will tax it again. Tell the boys to give me $150 million. I’m coming,” Gervonta Davis said on Instagram. Tell them to send this bag and I’m coming.”

To have any chance of a rematch happening, Gervonta, 30, would have to back down on his $150 million demands and come down on the weight disadvantages he may feel he needs to gain an edge.

Is KingRy the A-Side?

A lot has changed since Davis fought Ryan in 2023, and Kingry’s popularity has skyrocketed beyond where the Baltimore native currently stands. If nothing else, it would be for Garcia to be the A side in the negotiations.

Money-wise, Tank might get lucky and be paid $30 million if Turki Al-Shiekh gets involved in helping make a fight between him and Garcia.

Davis hurt his career by fighting just once since his win over Garcia, choosing Frank Martin and then made another blunder by choosing to fight Lamond Roach the following March 1st.

It’s a combination of lack of ambition, fear, and just basic laziness on the part of Tank Davis to not make the right fights to increase his popularity instead of hurting it. More than anything, it’s just plain old-fashioned fear. Gervoda is afraid to take risks. The forces of inertia have taken hold of him. An object is resistant to change without something setting fire under it to make it move.
