The best clothing subscription boxes for 2024

CNET’s expert staff reviews and rates dozens of new products and services each month, drawing on more than a quarter century of experience.

Clothes shopping can be fun at times, but it can also feel like a lot of work at times. If you find that you’re avoiding going to stores and shopping online doesn’t seem like a convenient alternative, you might want to try clothing subscription boxes. Online clothing subscriptions take all the hassle out of trying to find the right piece of clothing. You will have to spend time going to the store and you can have your clothes delivered to your home from time to time. Finding a subscription that gives you the right style for your vibe can be difficult. We’ve gone to the trouble of finding the right one and listed our top picks for you here, including options for all bodies.

A quick Google search will turn up dozens of clothing subscription services — many of which you’ve never heard of. Each has its own unique features, but the services ultimately all work the same way.

Choosing a service for your needs means that you will need to consider your needs, style preference and budget. There are many questions that need to be answered. Want a monthly box? Or will it be a quarterly thing? Do you want a personal stylist or an algorithm? Want to buy or rent clothes? Avoiding fast fashion in favor of something more sustainable? Do you want new clothes or are you satisfied with selected savings? Do you have favorite brands you want to stick with?

While all of these questions are important, the most important thing to remember about these services is that even the most experienced stylists can’t read your mind. The best way to make sure you get the right clothes is to give as much information as possible about your personal style and likes (and dislikes). The better you do this, the better your curated wardrobe will be.

I’ve tried several clothing subscription boxes; the best of the bunch are here.

as a Seam Fixing user, I can report a positive experience with this particular apparel subscription option. I’m always excited when I get a box that you can adjust to a frequency that fits your schedule and budget — no membership fee or monthly subscription required. My account is linked to one of my Pinterest boards, so my stylist can get more ideas about what I like, and she always leaves a thoughtful note in my box, which is a nice personal touch. The Style Cards that come with each box also show different ways to pair the pieces (and often with key items in your closet). My advice is to never pay cash for anything sure you will wear it quite often.

Register online or in the app (available iOS or Android). Fill out a detailed style profile, including your measurements, whether or not you like shopping, whether you wear heels, which features you want to highlight the most, and other factors. Stitch Fix offers style boxes menwomen and childrenand allows you to set a preferred price point between $28 and $500 per product (children’s products start at $12 per product). When I signed up, I chose the lowest price bracket, and none of my custom items were over $60 in my last box. When your box is assembled, you pay a $20 styling fee, you have three days to try on the garment, and you can return anything you don’t want or like. The $20 fee applies to everything you store, and if you store nothing, you only pay that fee. If you love your box and keep everything, you also get a 25% Buy All discount.

Stitch Fix also has a Shop Your Look option as well as a direct purchase option. On the main page of the app, you can scroll down to view individual items by event category. At the top you can go to Freestyle and it will show you the looks to shop. These give you custom items — pants, shoes, accessories, etc. — to match the pieces you already own. allows you to get These can be ordered without buying another box.

Although average US women’s clothing size a Misses is between 16 and 18, many stores still serve petite sizes. This can make the shopping experience uncomfortable and discouraging.

Dia & Co.‘s style service counters the often limited and boring options that make up extended sizes. The service offers sizes 10-32. My box was full of vibrant, colorful items — blouses, dresses, skirts, jeans, even a clutch. I always struggle to find jeans that fit my waist and hips and Dia nailed it. The box also combined classic pieces like a polka dot blue dress with more colorful, patterned pieces that were outside my comfort zone.

To use Dia & Co., you first take a style test that asks about your measurements, how clothes typically fit you, your style preferences, and your preferred price range for items like tops, pants, and dresses. You pay a $20 styling fee to assemble your box. When the box arrives, you can buy what you like and return what you don’t. A $20 fee applies at checkout for everything you keep. You can order style boxes that best fit your schedule — every two weeks, every three weeks, monthly, every two months, or every three months — as long as you wear the outfit within five days and return it. If you love your box and keep everything, you also get a 25% Buy All discount. There is also one boutique unless you’re quite ready to try the whole box.

A Menlo Club The shipment combines many aspects of menswear: clothing, footwear and sports. As with many other boxes, you first take a style test and then receive two items of clothing per month in the mail. Menlo dresses are casual enough to wear on their own if you have a slimmer wardrobe, but the more items you get, the more you can stock up on new outfits and push yourself outside of your fashion comfort zone. Plus, the Menlo store, where anyone can shop without an account, often has good sales on designer brands — $58 pants for $10, for example. If you’re a member, you’ll also get 25% off in store.

My husband’s Menlo Club package consisted of dark jeans and a white long-sleeved henley. Her style is very relaxed, so these items fit easily in her closet. Jeans would be easy to dress up or casual. White was a nice change since she usually wears dark colors.

Service to Menlo is a membership fee $60 per monthand it’s easy to cancel (or skip a month) if you find it’s not for you — just make sure you do it before we charge you that month. Menlo does not offer returns on packages, but you can exchange items if something doesn’t fit. You can also subscribe seasonal membershipwhere the package is delivered only once every three months for the same price of $60 every three months.

Stylological It’s a clothing subscription service that offers women’s sizes 12 to 36. What I liked most about it was how quickly the service selected my style based solely on my style profile. I also like that each box provides a complete outfit, while other services include pieces that may or may not come together. The style includes a skirt, a cardigan, a top, a pair of shoes and a bracelet. It suited my style and was still a bit adventurous.

The style box includes five items and you have seven days to try them out. There is a $20 styling fee that applies to everything you store, and if you store nothing, you only pay that fee. If you love your box and keep everything, you get 20% off.

From every clothing subscription box Trendy Butler includes at least two items of clothing from brands such as Eleven Paris, Civil Society, Zanerobe, WeSC and Superdry to build your wardrobe. My husband’s sample package included three items: a gray long-sleeve shirt, a navy button-down, and a pair of navy pants. The items were able to work together and easily integrate into her closet without stepping too far out of her comfort zone.

Packages cost $65 a month — with no styling fees — so you can keep everything. Your credit card account is charged on the day you place your order and on the same day of the following month. Trendy Butler also has an online store where you can purchase custom pieces with your account.

If something doesn’t work with your box, Trendy Butler offers a refund (but no refunds) and exchanges for members via support email. You must have purchased the items within the last 60 days, explain why the items don’t work for Trendy Butler to upgrade your profile, and have the clothes in “unworn condition” with tags still attached. If the items meet these criteria, you will be sent a prepaid return label.
