Samsung’s launch of the Galaxy S24 series was all about Galaxy AI in the background with its long-standing digital assistant, Bixby. However, it looks like Samsung isn’t ready to give up on Bixby just yet. Company in July teased said it uses its proprietary extended language model (LLM) to equip Bixby with next-generation AI intelligence. Then quietly has been activated New and improved Bixby in China with W25 and W25 Flip folding phones. Now, it looks like Samsung is planning a global launch for a more powerful Bixby with the launch of the Galaxy S25 series.
according to ET NewsBacked by LLM, Bixby will finally make its way outside of China when Samsung makes its debut Galaxy S25 series in January. The redesigned assistant was originally expected to appear on the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6, but it reportedly didn’t happen due to scheduling issues on Samsung’s end.
The new Bixby expected to arrive in the Galaxy S25 series will be equipped with LLM like ChatGPT or Google Gemini. This should allow users to interact with the digital assistant in a more natural way. It also has the ability to access information from various apps like Calendar or Samsung Internet, understand the context on the screen, communicate with apps for things like directions, and more.
The next generation Bixby will reportedly be part of the stable One UI 7 The launch will take place alongside the Galaxy S25 launch. Older Samsung flagship devices can also get access to the updated Bixby after receiving the One UI 7 update.
