The Google Play Store now says that TikTok is “not available” on Android

In addition in-app closure noticeTikTok is no longer available for download from the Google Play Store.

Searching for “TikTok” in the US Play Store returns a custom banner message with the app icon: “Looking for TikTok? — This program does not exist.”

TikTok Lite and TikTok Shop Seller Center have also been removed from the Play Store. Visit a direct link returns the following message. As of Saturday evening (PT), apps published by TikTok Pte. are no longer available. Ltd. in the USA.

The Protecting Americans from Foreign Adversary Controlled Applications Act (PAFACA) was signed into law on April 24, 2024, and the Supreme Court upheld its constitutionality earlier this week. The law requires the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store to remove TikTok from distribution on January 19. Both companies face fines of $5,000 per day per US user if they don’t.

Given the general shutdown of the service, it’s possible that TikTok voluntarily removed the apps before stores followed suit.
