The practical magic sequence may have evoked a director

Last summer, reports began to swirl that Warner Bros follow up going for their cult classic Practical magic. Now, things seem a little more real, as a director can be found for the film.

The original Practical magic released in 1998 and starring Kidman and Bullock as Gillian and Sally Owens, sisters descended from a long line of witches raised by their aunts in a small town. Years after the separation, the sisters reunite and use their powers to defeat the spirit of Gillian’s abusive boyfriend. It wasn’t a box office smash at the time, but in the years since its release, it has developed a passionate audience. The idea of ​​a follow-up appeared for the first time in 2019 through a potential HBO Max series. It seems more likely now, since Beetlejuice Beetlejuice was a hit for WB last year, and Kidman’s star power has grown as she’s taken on more varied projects over the years.
