The Serie A side are launching a permanent transfer bid for the Chelsea midfielder
Chelsea have reportedly received one offering from Torino for midfielder Cesare Casadei.
Casadei, 21, joined Chelsea from Inter Milan in the summer of 2022 for an initial fee of £12.6m, with a further £4.2m in add-ons, but is yet to make his mark on the Blues after a string of of gross loans with Reading. and Leicester City.
Having managed just six cup appearances this season under Enzo Maresca, Casadei is expected to find a new club this winter, with loan and permanent options ready to be explored.
Gianluca Di Marzio states that Torino made the first move in pursuit of Casadei. There is no mention of a fee, but the proposed deal is believed to be permanent.
Sweetening the deal for Chelsea is Torino’s willingness to include a buyout clause. It has been compared to Como’s purchase of Nico Paz, who signed from Real Madrid for €6m in the summer, but he could return to the Bernabeu for €9 million at the end of the season.
Lazio are also interested in Casadei but have yet to make an offer Chelsea.
Casadei is one of a handful of players who could be moved on in the winter, with left-back Ben Chilwell and fellow midfielder Karney Tsukumeka also on the fringes of Maresca’s first team.
Chukwuemeka is available for both a permanent and loan deal, although the Blues will require his full £40m release clause to sell this month.
