Verified Compute Press Release | EQTY Lab

  • Breakthrough provides the first-ever certificates of reliability and compliance for independent verification of AI training, inference, and runtime benchmarks.

  • Delivered this month to the first clients with transformative applications across the life sciences, public sector, finance, and media to enable smarter, safer AI systems and agents.

Los Angeles, CA – December 18, 2024EQTY Labin collaboration with Intel (NASDAQ: INTC) and NVIDIA (NASDAQ: NVDA), announced today the release of the Verifiable Compute AI framework, the first hardware-based solution for managing and auditing AI workflows. Verifiable Compute represents a significant leap forward in ensuring that AI is explainable, accountable, and secure at runtime. This gives consumers and businesses new confidence to accelerate AI adoption and development.

As a new era of autonomous AI agents emerges, we need to change our reliance on AI systems. Verifiable Compute protects and controls AI data, models, and agents with the industry’s most advanced cryptography.

It changes how organizations implement AI governance, automate auditing, and collaborate to create safer and more valuable AI.

Jonathan Dotan, Founder of EQTY Lab

Verifiable Compute introduces a patent-pending hardware-based cryptographic AI notary and certificate system to isolate sensitive AI operations and notarize them in a tamperproof record of every data object and code computed by AI training and inference. It also provides real-time compliance checks and implementation of AI business policies and new sovereign AI regulations such as the EU AI Act. Verifiable Compute’s new layer of trust is rooted right in the silicon of next-generation hardware from NVIDIA and Intel, setting the stage for a new standard for AI safety and innovation. Intel is pushing the boundaries of delivering Confidential AI from the edge to the cloud, and EQTY Lab provides another level of confidence in the confidential computing ecosystem. Adding Verifiable Compute to Confidential AI deployments helps companies improve the security, privacy, and accountability of their AI solutions.Anand Pashupathy, VP & General Manager, Security Software & Services Division, Intel Corporation

The true potential of AI will not be fully realized until we can provide confidential computing to verify every component of the stack. Securing the processor trust boundary sets a standard for next-generation AI workloads to be cryptographically secure and verifiable.Michael O’Connor, NVIDIA Chief Architect for Confidential Computing, NVIDIA

The Verifiable Compute framework and notary system unlock a powerful new capability in Trusted Execution Environments (TEEs) available on 5th Gen Intel® Xeon® Processors with Intel® Trust Domain Extensions (Intel® TDX), extending in the trust zone via confidential VMs to The NVIDIA H100/H200 GPUs and NVIDIA’s upcoming Blackwell GPU architecture. The need for confidential computing has increased this year due to requirements for compliance with data sovereignty laws and new AI regulations. The market is expected to reach global sales of $184.5 billion by 2032.

Verifiable Compute addresses unique and growing risks in the AI supply chain, from AI poisoning and information extraction to privacy backdoors and denial-of-service attacks. According to recent studies, 91% of organizations have experienced supply chain attacks in traditional software systems – an issue that is even more pronounced in the context of AI agents that automate tasks with minimal supervision.

By providing a cryptographically secure record of each stage of the AI lifecycle, Verifiable Compute shows how innovation can prevent attacks with verifiable authentication, security, and assurance rooted in silicon. Verifiable Compute also enables verifiable records of compliance with regulatory frameworks that can preserve AI artifacts years after a model has produced results. If the mandatory controls are not satisfied, a verifiable management gateway stops an AI system and can inform or accompany the repair tool of a business, with native connectors to ServiceNow, Databricks, and Palantir. If the system is compliant, it can issue an AI audit and line certificate that is immediately verified by a browser or can be independently audited at any point in the future. Together, these advanced capabilities eliminate a huge trust gap for businesses, allowing them to innovate responsibly with AI and prepare to realize the new promise of autonomous AI agent systems. .
