Walmart hints that Nintendo will reveal Switch 2 this week

Who wants to see a Switch 2? Nintendo may be about to make an official announcement or at least release another teaser that offers a look at its upcoming console. Based on a regularly accurate leaker and Walmart, we should see something from Nintendo sometime on Thursday.
On Wednesday, one of Canada’s Twitter accounts published a strange picture with obvious implications if you were there for the original Switch launch. It featured Mario standing behind the curtain with an uncomfortable look on his face. It’s the same image Nintendo used almost eight years ago, when it first set the date for its preview trailer of “NX,” the initial codename for the original Switch console.
The post was followed by a video posted by routine leaker Nate the Hate. Here, he said that Nintendo will drop a reveal trailer sometime on Thursday, January 16. In addition, he stated that the trailer will not focus on the software, but will show the new hardware and perhaps offer an official look at the specifications of the portable console. The new device should sport an 8 inch display plus removable controller that could use magnets instead of rails.
VGC and Eurogamer said his sources said a trailer is set for this week. The Virgin Tom Warren said a reveal video should be out this week. VGC has stated that the software showcase will arrive sometime in February or March, but Switch fans will have to wait for an actual release in May or June, depending. Eurogamer. However, Google search may have revealed a potential March release, as spotted one editor on the r/NintendoSwitch2 subreddit. The screenshots show an Italian Amazon listing for the Switch 2 and a UK listing, both for March 6.

Nintendo has previously said it will reveal its new console before the end of its fiscal year, which ends in March. We had a few leaks arising from test models created by third party cases and peripheral manufacturers. We have too seen the supposed motherboard and its new Nvidia chip, although we still don’t know if the dock add any extra juice to support the console.
The only piece of the puzzle that is missing is Nintendo itself. The Japanese console maker has been radio silent for months regarding its upcoming console. At this point, Nintendo will likely wait until late Wednesday before offering a hint about a Switch trailer sequel.
