We’ve just seen some version of this power exercised in the US political sphere, as the Bitcoin (and crypto) lobby strongly supported pro-Bitcoin candidates in the last US election cycle. This lobby is so powerful that many pro-Bitcoin candidates have been elected to office or re-elected.
One possibility argue Trump won the election because of his acceptance of Bitcoin, and Harris seems to be gathering only the ability to make warm statements about being a crypto supporter (messages Some of the Bitcoin log has been found to be inauthentic, even borderline).
Now, there’s another opportunity for the Bitcoin community to rally behind a candidate. For the first time in history, a country has a presidential candidate who is running on the idea of putting his country on the bitcoin standard. That country is Suriname, that candidate is Maya Parbhoe.
Parbho understands the transformative power of bitcoin and believes that making it legal tender will help Suriname’s 600,000 citizens get out of this situation.survival mode,” as he said.
So my question to you as a Bitcoin enthusiast is this: do you want to see Parbho try to make history or do you want to play a part in helping him do it?
In other words, do you go contribute to his campaign — Because Bitcoin allows you to do it without permission from anywhere in the world, or will you be a bystander?
