Liam Dawson produced an impressive moment of brilliance during his 14th match SA20 2025 at St George’s Park, leaving fans and players in awe. The Sunrisers Eastern Cape all-rounder showed incredible athleticism and reflexes to remove a blinder with one hand, dismissing JJ Smuts and further derailing the Durban Super Giants participants.

The breathtaking effort came in the 5th over of the Durban participants. Richard Gleeson delivered a good length ball just outside off, which JJ Smuts punch forward. For a fleeting moment, the ball looked destined for the boundary, but Dawson had other plans. Sprinting to his right, Dawson stuck out his weaker arm and latched onto the ball, defying logic and physics. The fact that the ball had already gone past him when he made the grab elevated the effort to one of the best catches of the tournament so far.
Smuts was surprised, Quinton de Kock he could hardly believe his eyes in the dressing room and the Durban supergiants found themselves in more trouble as Dawson’s brilliance added to their woes.

Sunrisers dominance in the game
The Sunrisers Eastern Cape bowlers, led by his efforts Marco Jansen and Gleeson, took advantage of the early breakthroughs, bundling the Durban Super Giants for a paltry 115/8 in 20 overs. Kane WilliamsonA patient 44 was the only bright spot for the batting side, while Naveen-ul-Haq’s late cameo of 30 off 15 balls provided some resistance.
In reply, Sunrisers chased down the target comfortably in 15.2 overs, with David Bedingham‘s fiery 39 off 20 balls and Aiden Markram‘s shot 31 on 20 to seal the win.
While the Sunrisers produced a comprehensive performance to secure a six-wicket win, Dawson’s one-handed wonder was undoubtedly the highlight of the match.
