WBC Mandatory battle at risk: Turki Alalshikh’s decision threatens bivol vs. Benavez

Turki Alalshikh says he has lost his interest in making an effort to draw a fight between the undisputed lightweight heavyweight champion Dmitry Bivol and his WBC David Benavidez’s undefeated compulsory. It does not say why he has lost interest in the Bivol-Benavidez race.

If Turki’s slogan is “the best against the best”, he should be in favor of Bivol who is competing at the WBC Mandatory Benavidez then because he won the match with his impressive victory with David Morrell on February 1st. The “Mexican monster” Benavidez is Kryptonite for Bivol and beterbiev.

Title stripping?

Bivol may need to give up the WBC title if the sanction body pushes and seems to do so. This may not bother Turki if his goal is to focus only on the rings titles for his Boxing League matches he creates with Dana White.

If Alalshikh only wants to use his titles, it won’t matter if Bivol is stripped of the WBC zone. Of course, it may matter for him if he will not be in the Turki championship because he will lose his belts. Eddie Hearn Matchroom promotes Bivol.

It is what the fans now want, as they are tired of seeing Bivol and Artur Beterbiev to fight after watching them fight twice. Friends have already seen the routine between them. Bivol hits and runs and Beterbiev of Beterbiev chases him when he is not tired. Both races were boring.

Does the trilogy hint?

Alalshikh says that Bivol (24-1, 12 kos) should not “delay, which is code because he has to fight the person that the Turk wants to next to him, not Benavidez. He believes that Bivol wants to face the former unquestionable champion 175 lb champion Artur beterbiev in trilogy. Dmitry defeated him with a 12-Stroggyle majority decision in their rematch last month on February 22 in Riyadh.

People have seen Bivol and Beterbiev fight long enough to last a lifetime. They want some new blood to challenge Bivol about his titles, not a pointless third fight between them.

Last week, the WBC ordered Bivol and the “Mexican monster” Benavidez (30-0, 24 kos) to launch the negotiations. They were given by April 8 to gather a deal before ordering a wallet offer.

‘Be in time’

“I’m no longer interested in Bivol-Benavidez and I won’t. Ringrevealing that he is not interested in the undisputed lightweight Dmitry Bivol heavyweight champion defending against the WBC-ordered a fight against compulsory David Benavidez.

“My advice to Bivol: Don’t delay because something changes every day.”
